Seeing the world with Easter hope
“Where do you live?” “Come and see.” And they spent the rest of that day with him. John 1.38-39
There are vastly different ways at looking at our beautiful, but broken world, and at our own lives. Many live with quiet desperation, deep hurt, crippling fear, denial, … but can we hope for anything more? Jesus offers an alternative: hope. A way of seeing the world which does not ignore the hard stuff, but transforms how we see it, and transforms us in the process. Come and see!
Learning to see through Jesus’ eyes, is about seeing the potential that lies hidden in today’s broken reality. Lies hidden in each person, each situation, each moment. During the retreat, we will see Jesus responds to a woman who interrupts a dinner party to wash his feet; watch him wash the feet of his own followers; watch and pray with him in the Garden of Gethsemane; stand with the brave women at the foot of his cross. And hear him say, once God has raised him to new life: ‘Peace be with you… do not be afraid.’
The starting point of a whole new life, and new way to see the world, each is warmly invited to share. Come and see!
