EXPERTS BY EXPERIENCE: PEOPLE WITH LEARNING DISABILITIES AS CHANGE-MAKERS IN OUR COMMUNITY AND SOCIETY!
Inclusion, Interdependence and Independence: The seminar will focus on the concepts of inclusion and how individuals with learning disabilities can be empowered to take on roles as change-makers in their communities. It will also discuss the balance between interdependence and independence challenging the notion that independence is the ultimate goal in a society increasingly marked by loneliness and digital interactions.
Chloe’s Success Story: Hear from Chloe, who will share her inspiring journey with the Voice & Power Project. Chloe traveled to various L’Arche communities in the UK, listening to the voices of individuals with learning disabilities. Chloe will present a consequent training initiative focusing on friendship developed in response to proposals from core members. She will discuss also her future role in the national speaking council, a responsibility that holds significant promise for empowerment within L’Arche communities worldwide.
Living the L’Arche Mission: We will explore the essence of L’Arche’s identity and mission through mutual relationships and daily life in community marked also by celebrations & fun. The seminar will highlight the importance of partnership, where shared experiences and support are paramount. The seminar will look at the broader societal impact of empowered core members.

🎙️ Stacey Owen : Community Leader and a long-term member of L’Arche Liverpool, UK. Stacey is committed to embracing the gifts of all members of Community. Her passion is formation and development and finding creative ways of living out L’Arche values in today’s changing world.
🎙️ Chloe Creevy : she works as the Voice and Power Co-Leader in her community of L’Arche Liverpool and goes to the day centre in Liverpool. She loves hanging out with her friends and family. In her own words: ‘I am bubbly, kind & loveable and love helping people’.
🎙️ Sapphire Rogers : training Co-Ordinator for L’Arche Liverpool and a trainer for L’Arche UK. She is passionate about empowering people through education to make informed decisions in all areas of their lives.

💬 Hazel Bradley : story-teller and spiritual director, Hazel has been a member of L’Arche for over 40 years, starting in Trosly, then in India and now in London, UK. She has been community leader in Chennai, Zone Coordinator for Asia West Pacific, and International Events Coordinator.
